Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Mail Sorter in the Elgin area. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently sorting incoming mail and packages, ensuring accurate and timely distribution to the designated recipients within our organization.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 3:30pm – 12:00am
Pay $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Sort and Organize Mail: Receive and sort incoming mail and packages based on established criteria, such as department, location, or individual recipient.

• Data Entry: Log and track mail items using our designated systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of all incoming and outgoing correspondence.

• Distribute Mail: Ensure the prompt and accurate distribution of mail to the intended recipients within the organization, including interdepartmental delivery.

• Package Handling: Safely handle and process various types of packages, including fragile or confidential materials, in accordance with company policies.

• Mail room Maintenance: Keep the mail room area clean, organized, and well-maintained. Report any issues or concerns related to equipment malfunctions or facility maintenance promptly.
• Adhere to Security Procedures: Follow security protocols to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive mail and packages.

• Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments and team members to address specific mail delivery requirements or special handling instructions.

Qualifications:

• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and recording mail items.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to efficiently organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills, especially when coordinating with colleagues and handling special mail instructions.

• Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move packages of varying weights, and perform repetitive tasks.

• Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to privacy regulations. Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience in mail sorting or a similar role is a plus.
• Familiarity with mail room equipment and procedures.

• Basic computer skills for data entry and tracking.

• Able to stand for periods of time 70% sitting 30% standing/walking
