Sr. Mechanical Designer

We are currently representing the Domestic Leader in Automated Assembly Equipment in their search for a Sr. Mechanical Designer.

Summary:

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer who can create designs and technical documentation for mechanical devices and equipment.

The ideal candidate is someone with experience in industrial automated equipment, gear reduction, servo and VFD drives, etc - but is not a requirement.

Able to work well both independently and within a team, and brings confidence, critical thinking skills and enjoys problem solving.



Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Interacting with customers to help establish machinery requirements and determining automated processes
  • Traveling to customer facilities to discuss and understand manufacturing processes and concepts
  • Designing and managing complete machine assemblies while maintaining company design procedures
  • Delivering design presentations with both internal mechanics and customer teams to ensure all requirements are satisfied
  • Tracking design progress of multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously, and ensuring design consistency
  • Creating documentation for the machine build process
  • *Interacting and cooperating with other departments. (Machining, Welding, Purchasing, Assembly)

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • High level of Mechanical Aptitude
  • Able to solve complex problems
  • Proficient in Autodesk Inventor or similar software
  • Desirable skills include AutoCad, Macros, Visual Basic, and Excel
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Experience in machining and assembly
