Job Description

Blazer Jobs is currently seeking experienced School Psychologists for full-time positions within school districts in the Accomack, VA area. Ideal candidates will meet all local and state requirements for the position. Please find detailed requirements listed below.

Requirements:

  • Valid School Psychologist license issued by the Virginia State Department of Education.
  • Master's degree or higher in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) preferred.
  • Experience working in educational settings, conducting assessments, and providing interventions.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education and mental health services.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting psychoeducational assessments to identify students' strengths and needs.
  • Providing individual and group counseling to students facing academic, behavioral, or social-emotional challenges.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement interventions and support plans.
  • Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and providing input on students' educational needs.
  • Conducting crisis interventions and providing support during times of emotional distress or behavioral crisis.
  • Collecting and analyzing data to monitor students' progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
