Dispatcher

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Dispatcher for a company in the Marysville area. This is a fulltime, evaluation hire position offering fulltime hours with opportunity to be hired on. Overtime is also available!

The dispatcher is responsible for overseeing all plant activities related to freight during the second shift. The role involves production scheduling, dispatching trucks, and negotiating freight rates with contract carriers to ensure efficient operations. Starting pay is $20 per hour. Working hours are 3 p.m. - 11 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate freight with vendors to ensure maximum efficiency and timely deliveries
• Negotiate freight rates with contract carriers
• Maintain and process all necessary records and paperwork to ensure compliance 
• Confirm and process orders and bills of lading
• Advise customers on delivery scheduling and address order problems
• Develop production schedules in collaboration with the Production Supervisor
• Collaborate with production personnel to coordinate shipments
• Respond to inquiries from customers, truck drivers, and corporate personnel
• Cross train and fill in for general office duties such as scale operation, AP fill-in, production entry fill-in, and inventory posting as required

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience in a traffic or freight-related field
• Previous experience dispatching trucks preferred

Skills and Competencies:

• Experience with office and customer service roles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership abilities
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
• Proficiency in basic math calculations and percentages
• Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel

Note: The position may require occasional flexibility in working hours and additional duties as deemed necessary by management.
