Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proven sales leader for Regional Business Director, US Pork Division. This position is responsible for achieving/surpassing sales targets and supporting the achievement of the overall U.S Pork sales budget while demonstrating and upholding Zoetis Core Beliefs and Leader Behaviors. This position is responsible for leading all selling activities, business sales analytics, and strategic business planning, and is responsible for the delivery of over $100 million In annual sales.

The US Pork Regional Business Director directly manages two Area Business Managers. The colleague is required to be located within a pork production area in either the Midwest or Southeast and will report to the VP of U.S. Cattle and Pork.

Position Responsibilities

Sales Performance

  • Meet overall sales objectives (quota) both overall and for key growth products via demand generation within aligned strategic accounts and targeted geographies
  • Successfully launch new product and service offerings
  • Demonstrate success in other key sales metrics such as growth rates and improving the health and profitability of the pork business
  • Work closely with distribution counterparts to support strong execution of strategic plans that advance the business.

Field Sales Team efficiency and effectiveness

  • Lead all colleagues in Region to successfully and consistently meet their annual objectives.
  • Ensure Area Sales Managers are spending appropriate time in the field coaching and developing Account Managers and Pork Production Specialists. e.g. completing written coaching guides after each field ride and providing specific, constructive feedback to each colleague.
  • Execute sales coaching and colleague development of direct reports and across the business. Invest significant field time with area and strategic account managers in field coaching days, educational events/Key Opinion Leader meetings, corporate account meetings, Strategic Account planning and business reviews, performance reviews, leading regional business planning meetings, Individual Development Plan (IDP) discussions and provide aligned written feedback
  • Lead specific initiatives aligned to our expectations of enhancing the Regional team's capabilities (e.g., Field Coaching/Field Coaching Guides, Solution Selling, Strategic Account Management, Product and Production Technical Knowledge, Financial Acumen, and Territory Management).
  • Lead ongoing alignment and execution of Strategic Contracts within your Region resulting in greater value to and performance of these customers
  • Lead ongoing partnership and collaboration with our Technical Service Team to execute on opportunities within your Region resulting in greater value to and performance of targeted customers
  • Lead all colleagues in Region to develop and execute specific key accounts, strategic accounts, and key opinion leader objectives/strategies/tactics as part of their business plans
  • Ensure resource allocation, investment and utilization effectiveness to create demand and grow business
  • As appropriate ensure successful implementation of any pilots and / or new introductions within the field-sales team
  • Monitor selling activities as well as compliance with assigned expense and marketing budgets ensuring OPEX and marketing budgets are not exceeded. Ensure appropriate recruitment and selection of Strategic Account Managers and Area Account Managers. To the extent requested, support recruitment & initial development of other members of the strategic account management team; i.e., Marketing, Technical Services and Pork Production Specialists.

Excellence in colleague development and engagement

  • Increase Regional colleague development and engagement
  • Provide proactive, consistent communication to team to assist with account management and development
  • Execute formal individual monthly calls and at least quarterly field coaching account meetings with each direct report to review sales performance, talent management, and other key topics within the pork segment.
  • Building "best in class" leadership and coaching capabilities with your Strategic and Area Managers around the core aspects of a field sales team (e.g., Field Coaching Days, Talent Management, Solution Selling, Business Planning, Customer Service)
  • Consistently communicate with Pork Region to keep sales, capability performance, and execution of key initiatives front of mind
  • Work with VP of Cattle and Pork, Pork Marketing Director and Managers, Learning and Development, Technical Services, Finance, Net Revenue Management, Malvern team, and Senior Leadership, to provide ongoing exposure, coaching, developmental opportunities and regional project visibility to direct reports as part of improving Regional performance and preparing them for further advancement.
  • Identify and recommend personnel as possible promotable candidates. Ensure complete operational and managerial development of account managers through career ladder.
  • Model and champion the Zoetis Values and Core Beliefs in the Leadership & Management of the sales group in all dealings as a leader with all other operational and support functions.
  • Consistently lead and demonstrate change and learning agility. Drive a culture of transparency, empowerment, and accountability. Proactively identify and champion opportunities for cross-species alignment and streamlining of processes (e.g., contracting).
  • Demonstrate proactive collaboration and communication with Cattle Regional Business Directors and across Livestock Sales Leadership team .
  • Perform other duties as assigned by VP of Cattle and Pork Sales.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree (Bachelor's Degree) required.
  • 10+ years of related experience including sales and sales leadership, MBA preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the animal health sector with specific emphasis on pork is desired but not required.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word applications.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively, primarily in the U.S. Ability to operate in both remote working environment and standard office setting.

  • Computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, and ability to learn Zoetis systems)

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively, primarily in the U.S.
  • Ability to operate in both remote working environment and standard office setting.
  • Significant travel of at least 60% and some weekend work / travel are requirements of the position.
  • The colleague is required to be located within a pork production area. This position can reasonably be located in IA, KS, MO, NC, US Midwest, US Southeast.
