1st shift - Brake Press Operator, $17+ - Fort Wayne

Workbox is hiring Brake Press Operators in Fort Wayne, IN.
This company produces large concrete mixers found on cement trucks among other products. In this role, you would utilize the brake press to manipulate sheet metal, as specified by work instructions for each job. You would then be expected to inspect these parts using gauges and calipers to ensure tolerances are met and accurate. Experience is required! Overtime is available but NOT mandatory.

Responsibilities:
- The candidate must be proficient in using digital calipers and height gauges to inspect parts and fill out required inspection and production paperwork (Routers/ Job Travelers).
- Interpret production drawings indicating part dimensions in 2D and 3D projections.
- Basic math skills are required and able to read and calculate up to 4 -place decimals.
- Use handheld power tools: cut-off wheels, grinders, sanders, etc.
- Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours at a time without a break and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Experienced Fork Truck Operator
- The candidate must be open to learning/training on other operations in the department as needed or assigned.
- Experience with laser cutting is a plus.
Skills:
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to stay on task with little supervision
- Blueprint experience
- Fabricating experience
- Forklift certification
Compensation:
- Starting wage commensurate with experience determined from interview and an assessment of skill level.
- 90-day initial probationary period with a merit-based increase upon completion.
