Job Summary
The role of the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Engineer is to evaluate, plan, and perform engineering assignments with an emphasis on aerospace customers. Projects assigned may vary from customer projects or in-house engineering needs, mainly consisting of part production, metrology, and software implementation.

Essential Functions
  • Manage technical aspects of production projects for the aerospace and automotive industries.
  • Communicate with production teams to ensure successful part fabrication and finishing.
  • Maintain production project schedules and deadlines.
  • Perform Production Part Approval Processes (PPAPs) and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
  • Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) to develop jigs and fixtures for manufacturing and inspection aids such as drill guides.
  • Produce Certificates of Conformance (COCs) according to customer requirements.
  • Innovate and improve manufacturing processes to complete challenging parts and assemblies.
  • Provide technical input and support for continuous improvement projects on production workflow, operational quality control, or other business systems and processes.
  • Develop procedures and machine parameters for new AM technologies or processes.
  • Distill manufacturing requirements from engineering and manufacturing specifications.
  • Create manufacturing plans in order to mitigate risks and meet customer requirements.
  • Source materials and hardware components, recommend new equipment, tools, and software to improve department and processes.

The Ideal Candidate Will Offer: 
  • Proficient knowledge of prototyping and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Proficient knowledge of reading designs, prints, and other technical drawings/files and  Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficient knowledge of Quality Management Systems, CMM systems and 3D scanning metrology.
  • Proficient knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills to tactfully collaborate with team members.
  • Organize, prioritize and manage multiple medium to high complexity projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Grasp intermediate to complex concepts, anticipate possible problems, and generate solutions with proficient problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience: 
  • Degree in Manufacturing, Science, Engineering, or related field required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in additive manufacturing preferred.
Work Hours/Travel:
  • 1st shift work schedule, Monday – Friday.
  • Remote work not available.
  • No travel required.
