What Does a Cafe Cashier Do?

• Greets guests and answers phone calls
• Maintains a clean, safe and organized café and kitchen area
• Responds to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
• Handles to-go orders in person and over the phone
• Accurately processes orders and payments
• Preps area and completes pre-shift and post-shift tasks as assigned
• Communicates all orders to the kitchen and provides details regarding any allergies, special requests, etc.
• Additional duties as required

What Does It Take to Be Successful as a Cafe Cashier?

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in the restaurant/food and beverage or related industry preferred
• Food handling and general knowledge of service standards
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Sense of urgency and willingness to assist team members as needed
• Results-oriented with the ability to serve customers with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best values
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
• Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills
• Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing 25-50 or more pounds, as well as perform tasks like bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching throughout the work shift
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
