Team Leader - Full-time / Part-time

Our client, Optical Cable Corporation is seeking a Team Leader to join their team. As a Team Leader, you will be part of the Production Department. The ideal candidate will have Excellent Customer Service, Strong Communication Skills and Strong Leadership Skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Swannanoa, NC

Pay Range: DOE, Starting at $18.90

What’s the Job?

• Coordinates training for the team members ensuring that they have the necessary training to adhere to quality and performance guidelines for the team. Performs on-the-job training in work areas and monitors progress.
• Review the weekly schedule with the team and create a plan to ensure the schedule is met. Reports any obstacles or inability to meet the schedule to the Supervisor, Manager, or Director of Operations.
• Responsible for the issue of each order, first piece inspection, and in-process checks and maintaining the necessary paperwork for the team.
• Coordinates with the stockroom for a schedule of materials that must be pulled to meet production schedules. Recognizes any shortages before starting an order and addresses them with the Supervisor.
• Encourage team discussions for problem concerns, resolutions, and effectiveness of operations. Implement viable recommendations.
  . May represent the team at inter-departmental meetings.

What’s Needed?

• High School Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree in Manufacturing is desirable. 1-year minimum experience as a leader in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience in cable or connectivity assembly industry preferred.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with minimal support.
• Able to read assembly drawings.
• Able to interact with sales, manufacturing, and inventory control teams.
• Knowledge of ISO9001 or AS9100 requirements is a plus.
