Job Description
Job Title: Night Auditor


Reports To: Guest Services Manager

Summary: The Night Auditor is responsible for assisting guests with their overnight requests and balancing the revenue and expense transaction which occurred during the day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Closing and balancing all room accounts

· Counting and balancing credit card and room charges receipts.

· Processing payments from guests

· Posting charges to guest accounts.

· Entering/changing reservation information in the computer system.

· Keeping the next shift of front desk representatives informed of happenings during previous shifts.

· Printing registrations cards for guests checking in the following day.

· Printing arrival and in-house reports for the Emerald Grande guest services departments.

· Email stayovers and room moves to Housekeeping at 7:00 A.M.

· Making adjustments or corrections to accounts as needed.

· Conduct inspection of the public areas of the main lobby ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance and initiating appropriate action where necessary. Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance department.

· Night Auditors should greet guest on arrival at the Emerald Grande, and conduct check-in and registration procedures.

· Night Auditors should know how to handle guest complains, inquiries, comments, log them and initiate appropriate action and follow up.

· Responding to requests from guests for assistance and information about the local area (e.g. directions, restaurants, shopping, etc.)

· Front desk to ensure that guest check out arrangements are in order and tell the guest a kind goodbye.

· To handle evening and early a.m. check-outs efficiently and professionally within minimum delays based on policy and procedures.

· Night Auditors should assist guest with the billing questions.

· Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

· Associates or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Business preferred but not required

· A minimum of 1 years’ experience in hotel night audit, front desk operations, or related field

Language Skills

Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual a plus.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Can fully utilize Excel.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Qualifications

Availability Open and operational seven days a week. Employee may be asked to work longer days or over the weekend upon occasion.

License Requirements Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.
