Woodberry Forest School, located in Madison, VA, is an exceptional private boarding school community for high school boys in grades nine through twelve. It is one of the top boarding schools in the United States and one of the only all-boys, all-boarding schools in the country. Woodberry's 1,200-acre campus is the largest for boarding schools in Virginia, and one of the largest private school campuses in the country.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluates and provides treatment as necessary for student illnesses, injuries, and emotional issues.
  • Monitors student’ conditions and provides accurate documentation of the care provided and health outcomes.
  • Evaluates students and assists school physicians performing medical examinations.
  • Cooperates with school personnel in identifying and meeting the social, emotional, and physical needs of high school boys.
  • Assists the Head Nurse with communication with parents and outside providers, including scheduling appointments and transportation as needed.
  • Provides on-call support to students who may need attention or support during off hours.
  • Assists with prescription medication administration.
  • Helps manage inventory of OTC and prescription medications, first aid supplies, and emergency preparedness supplies.
  • Provides Front Desk support and coverage.
  • Utilizes database and communication programs, including G Suite and health management systems.
  • Administers COVID testing.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Assist in the summer with Camps.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years of experience working in a medical office or clinical environment.
  • Flexible team player who works well alongside others.
  • Strong clinical nursing skills.
  • Knowledge of medications and potential side effects.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good computer and communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills and compassionate demeanor.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and RN License preferred.
  • A commitment to and knowledge of residential and all-boys education.
