Salary: $55,000-$65,000 Depending on Experience

West Sixth Brewing is a craft brewery located in downtown Lexington, KY.  We focus on producing the highest quality, fresh, delicious craft beer, and sharing it with others by distributing it to other restaurants and bars in the Central Kentucky area.  We were the first brewery to can its beer in Kentucky, and distribute flagship and seasonal beers to stores throughout the Commonwealth and across the river in Cincinnati, OH. Finally, we also operate a taproom at our production facility, located in the Bread Box at 501 West Sixth Street; our Louisville taproom in NuLu; our West Sixth Farm location in Franklin County; and the West Sixth Boxpark in Newport.

About the Position

Deputy Retail Manager  (Full-time Position, Lexington Based, travel to other locations)

This person, reporting to our Retail Manager, is responsible (along with the Retail Manager) for the successful operation and growth of West Sixth’s retail operation.

This includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Execution of retail excellence, focusing on customer services, efficiency, and cost savings where appropriate for all West Sixth Retail locations
• The planning and execution of on-site brand experience events and major celebrations for all West Sixth retail locations
• The management and development of our front-of-house staff, including retail coordinators at various locations.
• The rollout of and implementation of new projects at all West Sixth Retail locations
• The resolution of problems as they occur, when they occur
• The planning and execution of new retail locations, including concept development, project management, and launch of new retail locations.
• Note: approximately 20% of this role includes the day to day coordination of the Lexington and Frankfort locations, including troubleshooting, scheduling, and execution.
• Occasional hands on bartending may be required, as needed, depending on the circumstances (emergencies, rushes during events, etc) although it is not expected that this will be a regular occurrence.

This job primarily requires the following skills

• Excellent Project management skills
• Flawless attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Time management 
• Basic computer skills, including the use of tools such as slack, google documents, gmail, etc.
• Additionally, experience with the following technologies are of added benefit: Toast, 7shifts, project management tools, and task management systems

Note this job will require travel between Lexington, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Frankfort. Good driving record and reliable transportation are needed. The hours of this position are not Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, nights and evening work is required to do the job well.  This job will require the evaluation of employees as they work, and some assistance during our business times, which includes nights and weekends. Flexibility is available, however, and this job is intended to be sustainable for the right person. 

This is a 100% salaried exempt position, with full benefits (Health, Dental, 401k, etc)
