Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? We are actively seeking a highly skilled individual to join our Engineering Team in the Evolution Department. As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, focusing on developing innovative mechanical design solutions. Your primary objective will be to enhance machine reliability and performance while driving cost efficiencies in the manufacturing process. This exciting position encompasses both the improvement of existing equipment designs and the development of cutting-edge machine designs.

Requirements:

  • Design solutions in accordance with specified requirements.
  • Integrate solutions with existing machine designs when applicable.
  • Conduct research on new applications, materials, and machine designs.
  • Utilize Autodesk Inventor and Vault to create 3D models of parts and assemblies.
  • Generate production drawings and .dxf files using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Preferably possess the ability to perform FEA using ANSYS software.
  • Develop test plans and prepare test reports.
  • Work independently or collaboratively on projects as needed.
  • Ensure that designs adhere with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to address fabrication issues.
  • Interface with external vendors for component sourcing and validation.
  • Complete project tasks within defined timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or technology
  • At least 2-5 years professional work experience in engineering design
  • Advanced understanding of various manufacturing processes, such as sheet metal forming, welding, machining, casting, and injection molding.
  • Proficiency in both 2D and 3D CAD software is essential.
  • Ability to conduct and interpret structural analysis of complex structures.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a creative mindset
  • Ability to work independently on projects, demonstrating effective time management and handling multiple concurrent projects efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on clarity and conciseness
  • Attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • A passion for mechanical design and a solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Preferred experience with accelerometers, stress/strain gauges, and data acquisition systems
  • Experience in FEA analysis is a advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of GD&T for manufactured components and assemblies is beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, machining, and welded fabrications is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $78,000
