Department Overview

The Leadership and Employee Development department is a dynamic group within Human Resources, People Development, that focuses on delivering high quality, interactive leadership, and professional development resources. Our goal is to maximize leadership effectiveness through innovative development opportunities targeted at all levels, enhance professional and career development resources that allow coworkers to grow in their current roles and future opportunities. This is done by focusing on the participant experience through instructor-led, virtual and web-based development that improve participant effectiveness and productivity in order to deliver safe, reliable, affordable and clean service to PG&E's customers.

The Leadership and Employee Development team primarily delivers client-focused training at the San Ramon Valley Conference Center, the but may train at the Livermore Training Center, the General Office in Oakland, and at various locations throughout the service territory.

Position Summary

PG&E is looking for a Sr. Instructor to deliver and support our leadership and professional development programs. This role will work closely with our functional areas (FA) partners, People Development team members (Curriculum Development, Programs) as well as members of our Operations teams. This role collaborates with other departments within Human Resources (HR) as well as interfacing with leaders throughout the company.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and San Ramon, CA approximately 2 - 4 times per week, based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $95,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $143,000.00

The ideal candidate should have a proven record of accomplishment in facilitation, leadership, adult learning principles, learning styles, and diversity & inclusion.

Job Responsibilities

Facilitate leadership and coworker development programs as well as onboarding training. Utilize various facilitation and training approaches, practices, and methods to increase the effectiveness of training delivery. Maintain subject matter expertise and industry knowledge and support curriculum design to deliver the best training possible.

Additionally, this team member will:

  • Deliver course curriculum to students and provide feedback to curriculum design team in support of continuous improvement.
  • Document key learnings as the learning solution progresses to ensure a continuous improvement model.
  • Assess training needs and recommend potential solutions.
  • Evaluate student performance in alignment with program goals and objectives and provide feedback.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years professional training facilitation experience
  • Experience effectively leading teams or influencing others
  • 2 years experience as a Career-level leadership training instructor or equivalent demonstrated first line supervisory experience.

Desired:

  • Graduate Degree in Organizational Design or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Coaching Certification
  • Facilitator certification
  • Expertise in 2 or more areas of leadership development (e.g. communication, conflict management, team dynamics).
  • Adept at utilizing various training and group facilitation and instruction methods and approaches
  • Able to draw upon in-depth team dynamics knowledge and experience to support participants and organization.
  • Ability to instruct students to impart leadership knowledge in classroom environment as well as effective interaction skills through experiential environment
  • Ability to observe, coach and mentor students in classroom and in experiential environment
