Willdan Performance Engineering, a division of Willdan Group, is looking to hire a Power BI Analyst II to help drive impactful insights through the delivery of pivotal data analytics products tailored for our Division. Our data analytics solutions make a meaningful impact on staffing, engagement, performance, and efficiency. This position is remote, may occasionally require working onsite. As the team's Power BI Analyst II, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced Power BI solutions to unlock the full potential of our data assets. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, optimize data models, and create visually compelling reports and dashboards. Additionally, you will leverage your expertise in SQL and SharePoint development, IT Security configuration, and Excel Pivot tables to drive innovation and enhance our analytics capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Power BI solutions to visualize and analyze complex data sets, including data modeling and optimization techniques.
  • Utilize programming skills to automate processes and enhance efficiency in data manipulation and reporting.
  • Write SQL queries and develop processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI.
  • Collaborate with SharePoint development teams to integrate Power BI reports and dashboards into SharePoint portals and sites.
  • Configure and maintain IT security protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage excel Pivot and Power Pivot tables to analyze data and generate actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on Power BI best practices, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in Power BI and SQL, and related technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • 6 years experience with Power BI required.
  • 4 years experience in developing business requirements and data analysis required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Power BI Developer with advanced skills in data modeling, calculations, and visualization techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming for Excel automation and process optimization.
  • Strong SQL programming skills with experience in developing complex queries.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint development and configuration for integrating Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles and experience in configuring security protocols for data protection.
  • Expertise in Excel Pivot and Power Pivot tables for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience in Agile product development methodologies, fostering flexibility and adaptability.
  • Experience with recruiting and workforce planning activities and data is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to various WPE offices in the United States.
