Position Overview:

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Intern will primarily support ongoing DEI initiatives by creating processes that help inspire, develop, and lead diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies. The intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various projects related to DEI events and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) materials.

Where you will work:

  • This opportunity offers the flexibility to work from your home office or a nearby Astound office, or a combination of both.

A Day in the Life of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Intern:

  • Support project management and coordination of DEI initiatives.
  • Research best practices, contribute to the development of new approaches, i.e., training, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvement of DEI programming and policies.
  • Provide updates on new trends in DEI events, initiatives, and actions that may be relevant to the communications and cable industries.
  • Provide administrative support for events, meetings, and briefings including scheduling, tracking RSVPs, and developing and distributing materials for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) as needed.
  • Participate in DEI presentation at New Hire Orientation.
  • Participate in all internship activities and events planned.
  • Brainstorm creative topics for speaker series/lunch and learns/panel discussions.
  • Assist with DEI page design on intranet and external website.
  • Assist with social media content and review.
  • Draft documents and templates in alignment with DEI initiatives.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Google Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in time-sensitive situations; aptitude to coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, drive projects forward, and ask questions.

Education:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in DEI, Human Resources, Communications, or related field.

Compensation:

The base compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour. The base pay represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job.
