POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the Project Director the Peer Support

Worker will engage clients in the community using trauma informed lenses. They will work full time and be

trained to utilize all five EBTs proposed for this program when working with clients in the community. The

Peer Worker will provide peer support to clients, including but not limited to screening, referral, and linkage to

care. They will provide education and distribute prevention and harm reduction resources. Peer Worker will

assist in developing relationships with trusted community partners and obtaining GPRA data. They will use the

EHR to document client encounters and track referral outcomes.

Peer Workers will represent the populations served including language spoken. Peer Workers will be certified

either at the time of hire or within nine months of hire. They will be knowledgeable how to work in a trauma

informed, diverse culture that upholds social justice and equity.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This is a full-time position and will provide the following services:

1. Motivate clients with substance use disorder to seek and remain in care

2. Utilize evidence-based treatments to engage and deliver services to clients through trauma informed lenses

3. Responsible for collecting GPRA data

4. Provide social and recovery support services, referrals to treatment for MAT and other infectious diseases

5. Assist in establishing linkages to prevention and harm reduction services

6. Provide education about life saving treatments such as overdose reversal medications and fentanyl strips

and distribute prevention and harm reduction resources.

7. Train clients and community members to use opioid overdose reversal medications including naloxone

8. Assist in developing relationships with community organizations

9. Use EHR to document client encounters and track referral outcomes

10. Participate in outreach events to represent the agency

11. Adhere to confidentiality policy and HIPPA protocol

12. Participate in Job Training and Education Programs, Meetings and Committees as assigned or indicated

including the Advisory Council

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Lived experiences (SUD)

Prior experience working with the target population

Ability to read, write and speak the English language

Knowledge of computer programs

Excellent organizational skills

Bilingual Spanish required
