Registered PRN Nurse - Warren State Hospital

THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services, Warren State Hospital is seeking reliable and caring Registered PRN Nurses to help care for individuals who have serious mental illness.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Pro Re Nata Registered Nurse you will provide professional nursing care and treatment services, which includes assessing the patients' physical, psychosocial, and/or mental health status as well as utilizing nursing diagnosis and treatment in developing and implementing an individual treatment plan. You will perform as a charge nurse and direct and coordinate nursing care delivery on an assigned unit applying professional and psychiatric nursing concepts, techniques, and procedures in patient care.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Special Requirements:

• This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• If you are within 60 days of graduating from a school of nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Registered Nurse license.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and a drug screening test.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
