Accounts Payable Associate

Alsum Farms & Produce Inc., a grower, packer, and shipper of potatoes & onions located in Friesland, WI is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Associate! The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

A Day in the Life of an Alsum Farms & Produce Accounts Payable Associate

You will arrive each day ready to verify vendor accounts and facilitate payments to vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies. You will charge expenses to the appropriate account and cost centers while reconciling account transactions with the general ledger. You are responsible for calculating and reporting sales tax based on invoices that have been paid. You will work closely with our Truck Shop and process shop work order to track equipment maintenance costs. On an annual basis, you will assist with year-end inventory reconciliation.

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm

Salary: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on experience

Work Location: Friesland, WI

• Associate degree in an accounting or business-related field
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
• Ability to comprehend and follow directions and to communicate and keep daily records
• Ability to maintain confidential records
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience with ERP desired or ability to learn
• Valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record
• The ability to sit/stand in one place for extended periods
• Good manual dexterity to perform required duties, various repetitive movements.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times
