Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and other coatings, and ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and masking
- Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors or customers to determine work requirements
- Apply paint and other coatings using a variety of techniques, including spray guns, brushes, and rollers
- Follow and understand all specification for coatings application from the manufacturer
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results
- Operate all coatings, equipment including guns, hoppers, pressure pots, airless system, blast media application, and the wheelbarator
- Observe machine gauges and equipment to ensure proper operations and to detect defects before they affect coatings application or quality.
- Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coting qualifications by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers
- Capable of completing all paint applications which include the use of a digital psychrometer and heat gun to take atmospheric measurements.
- Proper cleaning and general maintenance of all coating equipment.
- Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- Keep work area clean and organized
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Industrial Painter
- Knowledge of painting techniques and materials
- Ability to mix and match paint colors per customer specifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces
- High school diploma or equivalent
