The Opportunity

The Pike Technology Associate will report to and work in conjunction with the Director of Technology to further the goals of the Technology Department as well as Pike's Mission, Vision and Values. This is a 12 month position. The bulk of time in this role will be spent responding to tech help requests. This role will monitor, respond, and manage all tech requests on a daily basis including escalating tickets if needed. In order to be successful in this role, the Technology Associate will need to provide tier 1 and some tier 2 support in the areas of iPadOS, MacOS, Windows OS, Chrome OS, and Pike’s Audio Visual systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support and provide training to a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students with varying levels of technical skills and knowledge.
  • Act as the first point of contact for error reporting and tech support.
  • Troubleshoot technology issues.
  • Utilize the tech help ticketing system and provide end-user support for faculty, staff and students.
  • Diagnose hardware and software problems and identify help ticket patterns and provide systematic solutions.
  • Repair, drop off for repair, or replace damaged hardware.
  • Update and maintain the inventory database and other records as appropriate.
  • Support the phone system.
  • Assist with checking in/out and maintaining loaner equipment.
  • Help maintain the wired/wireless network.
  • Write end-user documentation.
  • Ensure cyber security is maintained and prioritized in all work.
  • Install and configure hardware and software with a focus on usability and security.
  • Help perform tests and evaluation of new software and hardware.
  • Coordinate outside vendors and consultants.
  • Support Mosyle for MacOS, iPadOS, and tvOS.
  • Support Papercut and printing throughout the campus.
  • Support Pike’s Google Workspace Domain.
  • Support Pike’s backup software for clients, Google Workspace, and servers.
  • Provide event support for audiovisual and computer needs.
  • Maintain, implement, and support audio visual systems throughout the school.
  • Ensures plans are in place for technology issues that may arise during off-hours or when away from school.
  • Available after school hours to address planned hardware technology needs and/or deal with emergencies, network or otherwise.
  • Actively engaging in the Pike community, for example, leading clubs, facilitating affinity spaces, participating in after school faculty and community meetings, and supporting Admissions events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Able to support everything Apple - e.g. hardware, OS, iOS, AirPlay, Apple TV, Apple School Manager, ecommerce, & peripherals.
  • Google Workspace for Education administration
  • Enthusiastic about working in a school environment with both students (from grades PreK - 9) and teachers.
  • Preference for classroom teaching experience with grades K-8.
