This Paramedic opportunity is per diem and will work varied hours and shifts.  We are looking for a dynamic Paramedic to work in our Emergency Dept to help work in a full-service Emergency Department (ED), treating all ages.  This role assumes the responsibility for assisting with the implementation of supportive nursing care under the direction of the departments medical and nursing directors.  Always demonstrates Service Excellence. Other duties as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Under the direction of a health care practitioner, the Paramedic provides patient care within a defined scope of practice that includes patient care/observation, assessments, specified treatments and procedures, provision of environmental and personal safety, and effective communication.U
• Will also be responsible to collect pertinent data within their certification scope of responsibilities and report these clinical, psychosocial, etc., findings to the RN or ED medical provider and charts appropriately.
• Works in collaboration with RNs and Medical Providers to provide patient care to adult medical and trauma patients utilizing advanced skills and judgment.
• Will be responsible for ECG interpretation, IV therapy, assessments/reassessments, airway patency, medication administration per provider orders, and initiation of approved protocol orders and guidelines of patients in the ED setting.

• Current certification as a Paramedic in the state of Nevada
• Current BLS, ACLS & PALS certification
• 2 years exp as a Paramedic, one year preferred in a hospital setting
• Completion of basic arrhythmia or hospital based EKG class within 90 days
