General Summary: The ideal candidate has a deep interest in CAD software design. The Survey CAD Intern will work in close guidance with and provide support to Project Managers on tasks for large and small projects in a team environment on a variety of projects within the Survey Department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including completing design changes, general arrangement, drawing production, redlining, plotting, and drafting using CAD platforms.
  • Will work closely with engineers, Project Managers, and other members of the team on assigned projects.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Understand basics of 2D software and knowledge of CAD standards. Experience with 3D platforms is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of software programs with Autodesk and Bentley; including but not limited to AutoCAD, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Having a flexible approach to work assignments

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Currently enrolled in college or university and seeking a CAD Technician Certificate, preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or similar data management software is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working in an office or professional setting, preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
  • May require occasional field work which may include exposure to the elements including high heat.
