Shipping Technician-First Shift

Our Shipping Technician contributes to the success of UltiMed to manufacture premium quality injection devices and related medical products with a focus on serving people and pets with diabetes. Our patented and proprietary UltiGuard Safe Pack works to ensure homes and communities have a safe and secure way to properly dispose of sharps. Coordinating workload within a small team, this position verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the duties according to quality and productivity standards. This role works a consistent 1st shift schedule M-F.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow our established FIFO procedure (First In First Out).
• Develop knowledge of part numbers, verify products to be shipped to ensure proper quantity, correct lot numbers and assure the products are sent to the correct address.
• Keep an adequate supply of inventory and shipping materials on hand.
• Process all required transactions in inventory tracking system appropriately, accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform computer-based functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow safety procedures.
• Operate the stretch wrapper, forklift or pallet jacks to move or hoist materials to proper areas. (training available).
• Interact closely with multiple departments when required (Customer Service, Production, QA).
• Float to production department when needed, up to 25% of time depending on order volume.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Full Time 40 hours a week.
• Experience using computers with Microsoft suite of products, email, and the willingness to learn the UltiMed Business Software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in English, verbal and written.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Work independently and manage multiple priorities as well as be a team player.
• Must be able to stand and be physically active for all 8 hours of the shift
• Available to work overtime when needed.
• Must be able to regularly lift, move boxes of inventory and use palletizing equipment.

Physical Job Requirements:

• The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Must be able to lift boxes 25-40 pounds regularly with an occasional lift of 50-60 pounds.
• Bending at the waist to load shipping boxes with inventory.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.
• Employee is required to interact with a computer, and communicate with staff, peers, and management.
