Job Description
The Unit Based Educator (UBE) & Nurse Planner will plan, implement and evaluate activities involved in providing continuing education to hospital clinical staff and medical staff.  The UBE will ensure that applicable trainings meet regulations required by Montana Nurses Association and will assist in the application for CNE accreditation when required.

To assist education department in planning and implementing programs to assess and meet South Peninsula Hospital (SPH) clinical staff and medical staff educational needs. To function as a Nurse Planner in establishing continuing nursing education activities in collaboration with Primary Nurse Planner, and maintain instructor status for American Heart Association courses in Basic Life Support (BLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 18 months of hire.

Qualifications
Active AK state RN license - Required
(BSN) Bachelor's of Science - Required
A minimum of two years general medical-surgical nursing experience required
To be eligible for the position, the candidate must possess an active RN license in the state of Alaska, a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN), ACLS, and BLS certifications. They should also have PALS certification and instructor cards for BLS, PALS, and ACLS, or be willing to obtain them within 18 months of being hired. While one or two years of experience is preferred, the employer is willing to provide training to the right candidate. The ideal candidate should be interested in education and possess experience in planning, implementing, or evaluating educational programs. In addition, they should have at least two years of general medical-surgical nursing experience and prior experience organizing educational offerings.
