Salary: $13-17 / Hour
Fluker's Cricket Farm is an insect agriculture company offering insect ingredients towards the insect consumption pet marketplace. Our mission is to contribute to a more circular food system by producing sustainable insect ingredients for pet food and pet nutrition. As Fluker's Cricket Farm enters an exciting new stage of growth and expansion of our insect production, we are looking for a Production Technician for our Port Allen, Louisiana facility.
- Full-time
- Pay: $17 per hour
- US Work Authorization (required)
- Must be able to work with insects (crickets, mealworms, superworms, and mealworms) at all life stages
- Must possess strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Able to correctly input lab data in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
- Able to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
- Able to pay close attention to detail and make precise measurements
- Ensures all personal safety equipment is in good condition and maintains proper usage
- Observes and adheres to all safety and security procedures
- Maintains both clean and safe work environments, and ensures all work areas are clean each day
- Able to responsibly mix chemicals for sanitation with the appropriate ratios
- Must be self-motivated, flexible, and have a positive attitude
- Able to work well in both a team-based environment as well as with limited supervision
- Able to read and write English, with excellent communication (oral and written) skills
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively
- Be able to work well under pressure and with time constraints
- Able to lift 35 pounds and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Be able to work in hot and humid conditions
- Possesses strong multitasking and decision making skills
- Must possess reliable transportation
- Must arrive on time and prepared for daily job tasks
- Must be able to perform other duties as assigned
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Bilingual is a plus (English and Spanish)
- Flexible schedule: 4 hour shift/8 hour shift/day shift/Monday to Friday. Some Saturday and Sundays required.
