Basic Job Functions:

Level II - Level III Welders produce welded assemblies from fabricated components per custom or stock specifications in a variety of metals using a combination of MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques. Applies knowledge and skill to perform advanced welding duties.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Positions, aligns, fits and welds together parts using jigs, welding torch and hand tools.
  • Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications, using square, ruler and measuring tape.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Excellent attendance
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.


Required Skills:

All Levels

  • Produce welded assemblies from fabricated components per custom or stock specifications
  • Welding a variety of metals using a combination of MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques
  • Position, align, fit and weld parts using common weld shop tooling
  • Understand proper safety and abiding by all quality rules instructed
  • Resolve problems using established procedures
  • Create solutions, procedures, and policies while working with various departments
  • Intermediate understanding of assigned work order/stage requirements and goals


Level II

  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in welding environment
  • Advanced understanding of assigned work order/stage requirements and goals
  • Demonstrate ability to accomplish assigned tasks on schedule and on/under budget
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic weld/fab related issues
  • Work independently 50% of the time
  • Be reliable and able to share knowledge with peers
  • Successful completion of certification to minimum of 3 WPS


Level III

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in welding environment
  • Advanced understanding of assigned work order/stage requirements and goals
  • Demonstrate ability to accomplish assigned tasks on schedule and on/under budget
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic weld/fab related issues
  • Work independently 75% of the time
  • Be reliable and able to share knowledge with peers
  • Successful completion of certification to minimum of 4 WPS
