Job Description

The Geoprobe® Assembly Technician works with a team that is responsible for assembling soil probing and technical drilling equipment. This position will use detailed schematics to build complex machines. Successful candidates will be highly mechanical with strong hands-on skills, committed to high quality work, comfortable working with schematics, and driven to finish tasks on time.

Assembly Tooling Incentive

Recognizing assembly technicians need quality tools to succeed, Geoprobe® offers new assembly technicians the option to purchase a full set of pre-determined tools at a discounted price. Current assembly team members can purchase up to $500 of tools from a predetermined vendor at a 50% discount.

Job Responsibilities
  • Follow safety guidelines for safe operation of all equipment
  • Maintain a safe, clean workspace
  • Perform regular test and inspection procedures ensuring that machines are assembled to specifications
  • Implement and identify needs for improvement to ensure that quality of products is maintained
  • Complete all assignments in a timely manner and meet production delivery schedules
  • Study, read, and interpret schematic engineering drawings
  • Build components and assemble drilling machines with unique requirements from start to finish
  • Use hand tools, magnetic drill, grinder and air tools to assemble product
  • Use measurement devices such as tape measure, caliper, etc.
  • Troubleshoot your own work, to diagnose issues of: Fit-up, component part inspections, electrical systems, hydraulic systems
  • Accurately report production achieved and associated inventory transactions
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

Job Requirements
  • Willing to learn from and contribute to a team
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Perseverance in solving problems and finding new ways to deliver better efficiency
  • Proficient with hand tools
  • Experience in heavy equipment – manufacturing preferred
  • Able to read and understand schematics
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, power trains, fabrication, assembly, and DC electrical systems
  • Basic PC knowledge (ability to operate a keyboard and basic navigation between screens within an application
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
