DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check with designated lead person on machine assignment and job assignment.
  • Produce parts on CNC machines according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.
  • Unload and package parts according to JBT Machining standards and customer requirements.
  • Complete accurate daily records (date, times, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
  • Follow instructions from all JBT Machining documentation, including: Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
  • Inform quality control, shift supervisor/ lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.
  • Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections.
  • Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead immediately.
  • Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner and comply with all 5S procedures.
  • Conduct all tasks and behaviors in a safe manner and comply with all JBT Machining Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Maintain all required documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Mechanical background and machine operating experience are helpful
  • A willingness to learn and be trained on the JBT manufacturing process
  • General skills with hand and power tools
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving and attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask on a wide variety of projects

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to routinely bend and squat
  • Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms
  • Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to repetitively grasp
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of industrial or manufacturing experience is preferred. Crane certification is required. Formal education or experience may be substituted with training when competency in the position is demonstrated.
