Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Residential Aide

Our Client is seeking a motivated professional to work as a Direct Support Professional/Residential Aid in the New Market area.

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; facilitating personal growth and relationship building.
* Ensure a pleasant experience for the Individuals in a quality program
* Encourage personal skill development by showing, teaching, talking, and coaching
* Provide opportunities for new experiences, including outings and in-home activities
* Encourage Individuals to develop and maintain relationships with housemates, friends, family, and significant others
* Provide opportunities for Individuals to learn decision-making and problem solving skills
* Have a thorough understanding of Individuals' ISP's - implement and document accordingly
* Complete daily log book process, and relay feedback to the Program Coordinator
* Attend annual and quarterly ISP meetings as requested

CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION FOR DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL/RESIDENTIAL AIDE
* Minumum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent
* Minimum of one (1) year experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
* Ability to interact and communicate effectively with others
* Knowledgeable of plan of action procedure in case of emergency including documentation and relay of information.
* Ability to satisfactorily complete and pass given background checks
* Current TB test esults
* Current CPR/First Aid Certification
