OPPORTUNITY

UTS Systems, LLC is currently seeking applicants for a Cost Accounting Manager position located at our headquarters in Fairfield, VA.  This position will report directly to the Corporate Controller. The Company maintains four facilities:  one in Fairfield, VA, two in Fort Walton Beach, FL, and one in Massillon, Ohio.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Cost Accounting Manager will develop and reconcile inventory and cost standards including production and overhead costs.  The ideal candidate will track and evaluate day-to-day activities including establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information. While working closely with the operations and supply chain team, the candidate will develop and reconcile inventory and cost standards, including production and overhead costs. 

This is an on-site, hands-on position with the following responsibilities:

• Responsible for period end cost analysis and reporting, including product margin analyses.
• Develop cost standards for materials and labor.
• Design and implement cost accounting systems.
• Analyze production costs and recommend cost-savings measures.
• Analyze and monitor inventory balances and reconciliations at month-end.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Assist in completing annual audits with Controller.
• Meet financial accounting objectives.
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
• Oversee annual physical inventory.
• Establish and enforce proper cost accounting methods, Policies and Procedures with Controller.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of success in progressive cost accounting roles, including:

·         Proven work experience as a Cost Accounting Manager, or Accounting Manager.

·         Expert computer skills on the MS Office platform specifically MS Excel and advanced knowledge of enterprise accounting software (ERP) and databases.

·         Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and product analysis / reports.

·         Proven knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.

·         High attention to detail and accuracy.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Undergraduate degree in accounting or relevant field.

IDEAL EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

·         5+ years of cost accounting or 10+ years of accounting experience.

·         Experience in manufacturing, ERP inventory management or inventory valuation highly desired.

·         Ability to work well in a team environment.

·         Self-motivated with good project management and organizational skills.
