Position Summary

The Senior Customer Solutions Design Engineer will develop and review design concepts and documentation in cooperation and collaboration with customers.


Primary Functions

  • Assess customer needs and provide solutions, including manufacturability requirements, maximizing value to the customer.
  • Analyze customer specification/design data to determine feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Work directly with customers to use our capabilities to solve their problems.
  • Create 3D models and/or detailed layout drawings.
  • Apply applicable design and engineering standards to ensure product conformance, including NEC, OSHA, ASTM, EN, IECEx standards, and EU Directives (ATEX 94/9/EC).


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university
  • Two to eight years' experience in low volume, engineer-to-order environment.


Skills

  • Developed knowledge of design technology and product applications.
  • Developed knowledge of electrical and electromechanical technology and product applications.
  • Progressive capabilities related to design for manufacturability, engineering standards, and CAD/detailed drawings.
  • Ability to manage complicated technical projects with service-oriented customer communication.
