We are actively seeking a skilled Tooling and MRO Replenishment Buyer to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing the tool crib, ensuring the timely procurement of essential tools, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. You will have a vital role in supporting our precision machining processes by sourcing, purchasing, and replenishing tools and inventory essential for maintaining our high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle all receiving, storing, and organization of inventory in the tool crib and vending solutions.
  • Record and monitor usage of tooling and supply items in the Supreme Tool Crib and Supplier Vending systems using Plex and Vending software.
  • Manage inventory levels for tooling and MRO supplies to maintain optimal stocking levels, using effective control methods. This includes management of the entire tooling regrind process.
  • Manage and select reliable suppliers for tooling and MRO supplies while cultivating strong vendor relationships. Negotiate payment terms, prices, and delivery schedules to secure favorable agreements.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the procurement function and implement best practices and initiatives to optimize procurement processes. This includes meeting significant cost savings goals.
  • Analyze procurement data, track KPIs including stock-outs, and generate management reports using data-driven insights.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for both internal customers and supplier partners.
  • Ability to gather electronic data and manipulate it to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with a strong sense of urgency. “Whatever it takes.”
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including experience with ERP systems, Microsoft, Outlook, spreadsheets, and other web-based platforms.
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to think outside the box; Focus on continual improvement.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight while collaborating closely with Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, Shipping, and Planning teams.
  • Prefer some experience in purchasing, demand forecasting, production planning, or order replenishment.
