POSITION SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION: Oversees maintenance of all areas of hotel housekeeping and supervises and instructs staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions.
2. Ordering supplies/inventory.
3. Maintains accurate records.
4. Assures all staff are punched in each shift, and appropriate breaks are administered.
5. Monitors employee work hours to ensure that no overtime is accumulating.
6. Periodically inspects hotel areas and Guest accommodations.
7. Delegates various duties to staff, as necessary.
8. Maintains courtesy and service with a commitment to superb Guest relations within the hotel staff and toward Guests and other departments.
9. Makes operating costs and profit improvement recommendations to the Hotel Manager.
10. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
11. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
12. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
13. Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
14. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
15. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Knowledge of entire housekeeping operations.
2. General knowledge of front desk operations.
3. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
4. Knowledge of various housekeeping equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Physically capable of pushing, bending, standing and walking for long periods of time.
2. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
3. Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Education Required: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience: One to two years related experience

Computer Skills: Must have computer skills

Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
