CPH has an opening in our Sanford, Florida office location for the following position:
 
Survey Instrument Person with solid technical and field experience with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
 
The primary role of the Instrument Person is assisting the Party Chief in completion of all surveys.

Duties Include
·       Operate instruments and data collection systems (total stations, levels, and other measuring devices) to acquire data for various types of surveys. 
·       Assist or perform processing of field measurements and related data; Limited equipment maintenance.
·       Utilize level rod, prism pole or tape at designated points to assist in determining location and elevations of   various features
·       Cut and clear brush and trees from line of survey with machete, brush hook or chain saw
·       Carry instruments, field equipment, hammers, stakes, nails, etc.
·       Keep survey crew vehicle supplied with equipment; clean and organize vehicle
·       Carry out instructions and tasks assigned by Party Chief

Requirements
·       Ability to work outdoors with occasional extended hours
·       Ability to travel out of town or state for up to two weeks
·       Must pass background check, drug screening and have an insurable driving record
·       Familiarity with GPS and data collection
·       High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school
·       Ability to hold and proficiently use all measuring devices
·       Ability to cut and/or clear brush while establishing survey lines. (machete use)
·       Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Demands:
·       The Instrument Person must be able to effectively listen and follow specific directions. The position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. The Instrument Person must be able to read and write and effectively communicate with others. This position requires a person to be on their feet working for extended periods of time. 
·       While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear. The associate is frequently required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is also required to stand, climb or balance, stoop and kneel. The ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required. Specific vision ability required include, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
