Product Designer
This exciting role will be responsible for preparing working drawings of turnkey recycling plants and equipment! This position will ensure drawings are completed based on an accurate assessment of design and build requirements. They are headquartered in the Eugene, OR area. The company is a leading designer and manufacturer of sorting systems and components for the recycling, waste, demolition, and construction industries. If you are an individual who loves to work with 3D modeling software and create drawings, this role could be for you!
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed design drawings and specifications for recycling equipment using 3D modeling software.
- Lay out, correctly dimension, and draw schematic, orthographic, or auxiliary views to show functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
- Coordinate with team members to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
- Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
- Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components using 3D modeling software and other standard design tools.
- Review equipment design requirements and produce equipment drawings based on standard component designs and good engineering principles.
- Create assembly drawings with the necessary details, instructions, and comments.
- Verify structural integrity of designs based on material selection.
Qualifications:
- Experience using 3D modeling software is required.
- A minimum of an associate degree in design/drafting is required.
- Experience designing and drafting industrial equipment and machinery drawings is a plus.
- Experience using AutoCAD is preferred.
- Experience using Inventor is preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Salary Range:
- $55,000-75,000 depending on experience.
