THE POSITION

If so, the Department of Corrections Human Resource (HR) Office is looking for a highly motivated human resource professional to complete our team. This position gives you the opportunity to manage all HR activities for State Correctional Institutions (SCI) Chester and Phoenix. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Field Human Resource Officer (FHRO) 3, you will be directly supervising regional HR employees to standardize processes, optimize resources, and create efficiencies in service delivery provided to leadership and employees at each facility. This includes advising regional Labor Relations Analysts in providing contract interpretation, ensuring that managers and supervisors are knowledgeable and kept aware of current contract and policy interpretations. You will be responsible for receiving and forwarding all complaints of discrimination and/or harassment to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office for review and determination, as well as providing guidance to Time Advisors within the region. Work will also include administering and overseeing the processing of the Workers' Compensation program for all regional institutions to ensure claims are entered timely and correctly, this will include maintaining contact with department heads or supervisors regarding their employees who are on various disability leaves. You will have the opportunity to work with Bureau of Talent Acquisition (BTA) personnel for creative solutions on hard to fill jobs and collaborate with Field Operations Manager and other FHROs to analyze trends and implement best practices within assigned HR operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Collegeville.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Human Resource Analyst 3, a Field Human Resource Officer 2, or a Human Resource Director 1; or
  • Four years of professional human resource experience which included one year of supervisory experience, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
