THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking to hire a 3 Year Limited Term-Wildlife Technician to provide field support for wildlife health related operations and research. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This 3 Year Limited Term-Wildlife Technician position is an entry-level role that performs professional wildlife management work including but not limited to capturing, handling, marking, and monitoring deer in addition to population monitoring and wildlife health monitoring. This position accurately collects, maintains, and transmits data and ensures projects and surveys follow established guidelines to meet expected deadlines. You will have the opportunity to work outside under a variety of field conditions and collaborate with field personnel including wardens, game lands officers, biologists, volunteers, and representatives from other government agencies or private sector organizations. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Limited term, full-time employment. 40 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch. Hours may vary for fieldwork, meetings, and other needs of the work.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from an Associate Degree Program in Wildlife Management; or
  • Any combination of experience or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle operator's license.

Other Requirements:
