If so, we might have just the opportunity you're looking for!Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Environment, Safety, Health & Quality (ESH&Q) group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Nuclear Safety Program ManagerOur team works an on-site 9x80 schedule located at our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off!Responsibilities Include:Managing staff to include: setting and aligning goals and priorities, managing staff resources, addressing personnel issues, providing technical resources, projecting staffing needs and hiring staff, provide periodic staff performance reviews, ensuring individual training plans and employee position descriptions are aligned to personnel’s roles and responsibilities, mentoring staff, provide professional development opportunities.Arranges for contracted work staff and products, as needed and budgeted, to supplement full time staff. With input from other Nuclear Safety Managers, arranges for staff to perform analytical tasks at MFC, ATR, CITRC, CFA, and REC. Reviews and approves staff-prepared products.Responsible for managing the Laboratory Nuclear Safety Engineering (NSE) Program to establish and maintain efficient, INL-wide documented safety analysis programs and procedures including the USQ and PISA processes, that are consistent with 10 CFR 830, Subpart B and DOE’s nuclear safety policies, requirements, and expectations.Owns and oversees the staff performance of the above activities by nuclear safety analysts and operations specialists. Directs staff conduct of the NSE self-assessment, peer benchmarking, corrective actions, and lessons learned programs to provide leadership and influence to improve INL NSE performance. Responsible for staff performance of dose analysis computing software maintenance, quality assurance, training, and replacement (as needed).Responsible for the INL standardized DSA (SAR-400 and TSR-400) and manages staff for the development, maintenance, and implementation of SAR & TSR-400. Directs staff as necessary to obtain company-level and DOE-ID reviews and approvals of safety basis documentation and other products. Oversees' staff preparation, checking, comment resolution, and brief executive leadership for approval. Manage relationships with peer NFMs and reviewers to ensure adequate technical resources to enable efficient and valuable reviews. Controls budget and scope for the development and implementation of lab-wide radioactive material inventory tracking and transfer methods.Nuclear Safety Engineering Subject Matter Expert to determine efficient and safe technical solutions to internal/external customers, including those at a national level. Responsible for maintaining relationships with internal/external peers, affected departments, and customers.
