Job description: Lead and guide the farm accounting department, overseeing GL and cost accounting, A/R, A/P, fixed assets, and more. Mentor and empower your team to excel in their roles.Develop and maintain robust internal controls and procedures that not only safeguard company assets but also ensure transactions are executed flawlessly, following both GAAP and our company guidelines.Maintain and manage the company's chart of accounts, ensuring accurate transaction coding that underpins our financial accuracy.Review and approve accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy before authorizing payments.Manage weekly cash flow management, expertly navigating credit lines, borrowings, and intercompany loans.Orchestrating the monthly and annual financial close and reporting processes across multiple entities will be your forte. This includes crafting consolidated monthly borrowing base reports.Oversee the maintenance of the fixed asset system, diligently accounting for acquisitions and disposals.Ensure timely and precise filing of information returns (Forms 1099) and business personal property tax returns. Tackle disputes with taxing authorities head-on.Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, transactional analysis, and other strategic initiatives. Your insights will drive financial success.Support the CFO in preparing the financial information required for the annual external audit.Foster and maintain strong relationships with external partners like lenders, CPAs, legal advisors, and insurance agents.Engage in the company's strategic planning and goal-setting activities, making your mark on our future. Qualifications: CPA certification or a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.Bring at least 5 years of relevant experience in a controller capacity to the table.Familiarity with accounting for farming is a strong advantage, reflecting your understanding of the industry.Experience with Famous ERP is preferred, and strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential.Your inquisitive nature makes you a quick learner, always seeking opportunities to deepen your knowledge.Communicate with impact through both writing and speaking, ensuring clarity in all interactions.Your diligence and focus on process improvement will elevate the company's financial practices.Juggle multiple tasks, working independently to meet deadlines and exceed expectations.Forge and maintain productive relationships across departments, contributing to a harmonious work environment.Evaluate, analyze, and interpret data, spotting trends that shape the company's financial strategy.Uphold the utmost confidentiality for all accounting and company-sensitive information.
