NPosition Type ManagementJOB SUMMARYThe Director, DevSecOps & Automation will be the Technical Product Owner responsible for the engineering design, delivery, and operations to deploy and scale solutions for Secure Cloud Infrastructure provisioning, Service Mesh, and CI/CD pipelines. This person will work with key stakeholders to define the architecture, roadmap, and go to market plan. Orchestrates processes across teams and transforms how work is done through driving agile automation deliverables. Supported by a team of engineers, the ideal candidate has been the owner for platform-as-a-service products and is skilled in setting the direction of a team and breaking delivery into workable components. We are transforming the way technology is managed at Marriott. Automation, DevSecOps, and long-term product iteration will be the new standards as we seek to enable rapid iteration, speed-to-market, and proactive security and operations. With leaders who have driven this transformation elsewhere, we need engineers who are excited about evolving the organization and setting the gold standard. We are early in this journey and thought leadership, with the ability to bring others along, is key.CANDIDATE PROFILERequired:Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification  8+ years of progressive technology experience with a blend of technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset including:  Experience in leading the delivery of DevSecOps products, including Service Mesh and Secure Infrastructure AutomationExperience in the rollout of Service Mesh technologies such as Istio or Consul ConnectExperience in the rollout of CI/CD technologies, such as Harness and JenkinsExpertise in Terraform in secure Infrastructure provisioning Excellent technical knowledge of current & emerging infrastructure systems & standardsAbility to create constructive relationships, influence, and communicate (to product team, engineering management, and non-technical staff)Ability to manage / drive change across multiple products within DevSecOpsDelivery focused with experience in Kanban and/or AgilePreferred:Graduate Degree in a technical discipline 2+ years’ experience with Kubernetes solutions; deployment, management, and orchestration across multi-cloud environments with an emphasis on networking and service mesh Experience with design elements such as overlay network in KubernetesExperience with rolling out and managing Kubernetes based service mesh solutionsExperience deploying federated service mesh across Kubernetes clustersExperience with advanced networking topics within and surrounding Kubernetes2+ years’ experience with Infrastructure automation solutions; deployment, management, and orchestration across multi-cloud environments using Terraform3+ years of technology leadership experience where you served as a technical product owner or program manager: Experience driving a product from the concept phase through maturityExperience with evangelizing a product driving widescale adoptionExperience coordinating cross-functional teams CORE WORK ACTIVITIESServe as the Technical Product Owner for DevSecOps products, including Service Mesh solution and Secure Infrastructure Automation providing technical guidance, ownership, and driving products.Create the vision and product roadmap for DevSecOps products.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as software engineers, system administrators, security teams, leadership, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements and design to promote a smooth delivery. Develop the roadmap and the Go to Market plan while defining how support, training, internal marketing, and accessibility will be handled.Work with stakeholders to define operational metrics and observability for the DevSecOps productsWork with stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver a Service Mesh and Secure Infrastructure automation solutionsMaintain in-depth documentation of activities and system configuration.Obtain market data and competitive intelligence to inform our D&O strategy. Maintain industry knowledge and enhance subject matter expertise, identify trends and changes in technology and automation strategies.Develops and communicates a point of view on complex technical topics. Aligns multiple domains, both technical and non-technical, on this common vision.Creates and articulates an innovative and compelling value proposition so that MI executives clearly realize the benefits and transformational value of DevSecOps productsManaging Projects and PrioritiesDevelops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work for self and any direct reports. Provides direction and assistance to other teams regarding projects. Helps determine priorities, schedules, plans and necessary resources to ensure completion of any projects on schedule. Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new plans or programs. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.
