Using advanced technology, CRC’s workforce focuses on safely and responsibly supplying affordable energy for California by Californians.CRC’s Asset Development Team structure consists of multi-disciplines (e.g., reservoir & production/facility engineers, geoscientists and field operations) working in an integrated fashion to assess and promote economic projects.  The Asset Development team is tasked with identifying and bringing to the forefront technical solutions, examining the application of emerging technologies as well as re-examination and refinement of past and current operational practices.  The impact of the Asset Development team is to increase the longevity and production of our assets ultimately impacting the profitability of CRC.The Production Engineer is responsible for determining the location and amount of oil and gas reservoirs and optimizing their development and production to obtain a high economic recovery. This position can be located in either our Long Beach, CA or Bakersfield, CA offices and is eligible for a hybrid work-from-home schedule.The base annual salary for this posted position is reasonably expected to range from $140,000 to $225,000, with a target annual bonus opportunity ranging from 20% to 25% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program.  Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including education, experience level and relevant industry experience.Benefits Include: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with Match, Paid holidays, FSA, HSA.ResponsibilitiesDrive innovation to extract value from conventional and unconventional assetsWork with multi-discipline teams to support optimal asset development and operation, leveraging fundamental reservoir and production engineering skills in development planning, opportunity generation, production surveillance and optimizationConduct reservoir simulation studies to identify IOR / EOR opportunities Responsible for routine surveillance of wells & fields to ensure optimal production ratesComplete Reserves estimation for assigned area, and monitor / analyze expenses and production for planning and Reserves report reviewSupervise comprehensive simulation studies and analyze different reservoir management strategies Review and approve Life of Field Plans.  Lead peer reviews projects / assetsAdvise or lead multi-functional teams in framing, planning, conducting reservoir model building and validation, and applying models to forecast development optionsDetailed evaluation & appraisal of acquisition and potential business development activitiesEvaluation & implementation of secondary and tertiary recovery processesAdvises management and technical teams on field depletion strategiesRepresent CRC in partner or stakeholder meetingsProvide coaching and mentoring to less experienced staffKey CompetenciesSurveillance – Reservoirs, Waterflood, Gas Injection, Monitoring Program, Data Collection, QC, AssessmentReserves EstimationReservoir Analysis – Rock and Fluid Properties, Fluid Flow, Material Balance, Pressure Transient AnalysisReservoir SimulationDepletion Planning – Development, IOR / EOR Design, Horizontal and Multilateral wellsRegulatory processes and requirements (Permitting, RWM, SB4, Idle Well, Abandonments, UIC)Operations – Drilling, Completion, Stimulation, LiftQualificationsRequired qualifications:BS Engineering degree, preferably in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical10+ years’ experience in Production Engineering for an operating company Reserves estimation & production forecasting using decline curve analysis and analog type curvesProficiency in the following software applications: DSS, Spotfire & ValNav (or other petroleum economics software)Reservoir Simulation and ability to interrogate and analyze reservoir simulation resultsProficiency in surveillance and tracking software such as XSPOC, OpenWells or industry equivalentsWaterflood/and or EOR grass roots development and injection survey interpretationMust have valid driver’s license and a clean DMV recordPreferred qualifications:Experience and proficiency in primary, secondary (injection) and tertiary (thermal) projects and low permeability unconventional reservoirsMasters in PECRC is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/VeteranJob Field: EngineeringOrganization: CRCSchedule: Full-time
