Functional Manager responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Manage a team of direct reportsPerforming functional manager roles and responsibilities (i.e. staffing, recruiting, timecard approval, performance reviews, etc.)Maintain high levels of engagement among their own teamSupport Career Development of current talent among team membersInteract with internal program leadership and customers on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and provide guidance and oversight to the employeesThe successful candidate must be entrepreneurial, a self-starter and have the ability to challenge the status quo. This individual must be customer-focused with proven leadership and excellent communication skills as well as a leader in change management.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership and/or in an engineering domain; Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience; or PhD with a minimum of 1 year of experience.Secret ClearancePreferred QualificationsExperience in an engineering domain to include Systems, Software, Network, Modelling and Simulation, and AI/Machine LearningPrior technical leadership (SW lead, test lead, product owner, scrum master, etc.)Experience making hiring decisionsExperience with conducting disciplinary actionsDomain experience in Missile Defense, Radars, Space SystemsActive Secret clearanceFamiliarity with Systems or Software Engineering processes and productsOutstanding Communication skills, both verbally and writtenExperience working in an Agile development environment with Continuous IntegrationSalary Range: $134,400.00 - $201,600.00Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
