If so, we might have just the opportunity you're looking for!Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL)) Specific Manufacturing Capability (SMC) Security group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).Our team works an onsite 4x10 schedule located at our SMC Test Area North with every Friday off! Responsibilities Include:As the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) this position serves as a sole senior principal advisor and subject matter expert (SME) on all technical matters associated with Cybersecurity of SMC’s primary  Department of Defense (DoD) accredited classified information system.  The ISSM acts independently to ensure adequate protections are in place without bias to plant priorities or budget and is responsible to the DoD Authorizing Official to ensuring controls are in place.  Utilizing unique technical knowledge and broad expertise in Cybersecurity, the ISSM addresses significant and unique solution sets to protect an exceptional large and complex Information System that includes Industrial Control Systems, wide distributed locations, and significant internal network.  Due to the complexity of the SMC system, the ISSM must demonstrate ingenuity in problem solving and be able to adequately communicate technical analysis to the AO. The ISSM serves as an advisor to both SMC Sr. Management and the DoD Customer. Failure to properly protect the security of the Information System could result in decertification of the Program. The ISSM ensures the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for each information system and for the users that have access. The ISSM reports to the SMC Security Manager and interacts with all levels of SMC and Department of Defense (DoD) management including the G6 Approving Official (AO) representative, Technology Applications Office Security Controls Assessors (SCAs) and the Information System Owner. This position serves as the INL representative for the primary DoD classified information system required to do work at SMC. This entails the ISSM determining and pursing courses of action necessary to ensure SMC's classified network maintains their Approval-To-Operate (ATO).The ISSM utilizes extensive knowledge and expertise required to manage all security aspects of an information system and is assigned responsibility for the day-to-day security operations of a system. Responsibilities also include physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training and awareness as it relates to the information system. The ISSM is responsible for establishing and maintaining compliance with requirements set forth in applicable Executive Orders, DoD regulations, CNNSI, and NIST standards. The ISSM is appointed by the Army customer to maintain the ATO on SMC systems and erroneous decisions or recommendations would result in failure to achieve critical SMC objectives and schedules.
