If so, we might have just the opportunity you're looking for!Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Mission Support group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Analytical Research Laboratory Mission Support Department Manager.Our team works a hybrid 4x10 schedule located at our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off!Responsibilities Include:The Materials & Fuels Complex (MFC) Analytical Research Laboratory (ARL) Mission Support Manager is responsible for leading and independently completing a variety of tasks and assignments across ARL. Key functions of the role are:Strategic planning of all division budgets, providing updates to leadership, and maintaining budgets to hit assigned budget targetsResponsible to provide leadership to ARL mission support department and assign tasks to staff to ensure activities are prioritized and executed as expectedResponsible to provide direction to the Criticality Safety Officer (CSO) for assigned Nuclear Facility manager (NFM)and ensure criticality safety measures are in place for facility operationResponsible to work collaboratively with program integration and maintenance to ensure resources are available to balance needs between program, maintenance, and operational activitiesAs a key advisor to the ARL Division Director, provide recommendations and input for successful division implementation of activities to achieve mission outcomesResponsible for performing line management responsibilities for direct reports including hiring, performance recognition and management, succession planning and professional developmentResponsible for all facility projects from conception to completion ensuring project activities are completed within budget and scope. Oversee process and facility improvements maintaining compliance and implementation of permits/DSA/etcResponsible for providing communication and coordination with all support organizations addressing nuclear facility issuesResponsible for communicating and executing the division management model including the vision for successful nuclear facility operations, mission accomplishments and improvement agendasResponsible to qualify and maintain the Nuclear Facility Manager Qualification, if requestedQualificationsMinimum Requirements:BS and 8 years relevant experience, or Advanced Degree and 5 years relevant experience or combination of education and experience will be considered. Hard Science is preferredMust have the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a RadWorker I or II qualificationMust have experience managing a variety of projects and complex budgetsThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US CitizenshipPreferred Requirements:A comprehensive level of knowledge of nuclear facility operations which includes: conduct of operations, criticality safety, nuclear safety, administrative requirements for operation, work management, facility operations, abnormal and emergency procedures, system design, construction and their interrelationshipsSome facilities may prefer a good technical knowledge in the areas of mathematics, nuclear physics, chemistry, materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and instrument and control theoryConsiderable skill in oral and written communication, problem-solving/trouble shooting techniques, and coping with emergency situationsJob Information:Salary Grade 230 ($121,212 - $206,232)Chosen applicants are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.INL Overview:INL is a science-based, applied engineering national laboratory dedicated to supporting the U.S. Department of Energy’s mission in nuclear energy research, science, and national defense.
