OverviewDescriptionThe position you are applying for is with V2X, under Vertex Aerospace LLC, in the Sensors and Advance Solutions Business.  Using our experience and expertise with high power radar systems, V2X delivers world class Operations, Maintenance and Support (OM&S) and Depot and Sustainment (D&S) for the COBRA DANE radar.V2X is growing!  V2X is looking for a talented Senior Cybersecurity Engineering Manager to join the COBRA DANE Cybersecurity team as the lead for both the Colorado Springs-based cybersecurity team members, as well as cybersecurity personnel who will be rotating on-site supporting the radar mission at Shemya Island, AK.    The qualified candidate for this Colorado Springs-based position will serve as the COBRA DANE Program Protection Lead, managing all cybersecurity engineering and operations for the program, to include all IT operations and maintenance for the radar.   Travel to the Shemya facility may be required (anticipate one trip per year) to provide oversight on cybersecurity activities on site.The qualified candidate will assist the overall program Facility Security Officer in providing certified services and support for all COBRA DANE Information Assurance/Program Protection efforts, ensuring compliance with governing DoD and Air Force Cybersecurity, Physical Security and Personnel Security directives. ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to:Manage taskings and supervise all assigned COBRA DANE Cybersecurity, IT, and support personnel.Oversee the local unclassified site integration laboratory and classified network enclaves.Ensure routine preventive maintenance activities are conducted for COBRA DANE Mission System, Transmitter System, and Facility Management System IT enclaves.Manage the sustainment of cybersecurity requirements in alignment with DoDI 8500.01 and NIST SP 800-37Prioritize and manage work in order to maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and repair VAX 6640 system connectivity and associated hardware (VAX, Sun, Desktop, and Peripheral systems)Direct team in following all Information Assurance/Software Assurance/Program Protection-related plans, policies, and procedures.Support the analysis of identified cybersecurity strategies.Direct and assist in preparation of authorization artifact documentation in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security Authorization Package structure in eMASSManage the system hardening and patching activities to ensure the most current applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)/Security Requirements Guides (SRG) and related checklists are complete.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the enclaves’ information assurance security procedures and safeguards to ensure they provide the intended level of protection.Lead and manage earned value planning and work level estimates for the cybersecurity team, direct personnel in the proper direct charging guidance.Other Requirements:Obtain Level II IAM Certification within 6 months of start date (in accordance with DoD 8570.01 Manual)Coordinate with outside agencies and site personnel to facilitate regularly scheduled Radar System MaintenanceClearance Requirement:  Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance.Required Skills:Minimum 8 years related experience in System Security Engineering or Cybersecurity EngineeringIAM level II or greater cybersecurity certification per Appendix 3 to DoD 8570.01 Manual, such as: CISSP, CISM, GSLC, etc.Experience managing the establishment and integration of various computer hardware platforms (VAX, Solaris, ESXi, Nutanix, Virtual Machines, Hyperconverged Infrastructures) and multiple operating systems in both stand-alone and LAN/WAN configurations.Experience in Information Systems Security / Information Assurance, Security EngineeringExperience with security authorization packages and related artifacts, bodies of evidence to include eMASS usage.Working knowledge of operating systems security features and settings (e.g., Windows, Linux, Solaris, hypervisors)Familiarity with Earned Value ManagementProfessional demeanor, good interpersonal skills, and ability to excel in a high-paced multi-tasked environment.Demonstrated ability to act independently, prioritize tasks, and manage tasks and personnel to schedule.Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written modes.Fluent with Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret ClearanceQualificationsDesired Skills:Experience leading a cybersecurity team or other technical team in mission planning and execution.Experience with leading cybersecurity projectsFamiliar with engineering management functions (planning, tasking priority, budgets, schedules, reports, etc.)Experience with authoring Basis of Estimates (BOE) for proposalsFamiliarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programmingExperience with information security toolset including anti-virus, Vulnerability Assessment, HIDS/ NIDSExperience with network device configurations and hardening.Experience with IA vulnerability testing and related network and system test tools, e.g., ACAS, Nessus, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)Experience leading technical Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and/or Trade Studies, performing Risk and Opportunity analyses, and tracking and mitigating risks.Experience developing and managing technical baselines--requirements, network and mission architectures, and developing and reviewing Engineering Change RequestsExperience applying technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to solve problems.Experience briefing (both written and oral) effectively to all levels of the organization, from peers to senior management.Experience working with DoD government customers including the USAF and USSFCurrent DoD Secret clearanceEducation Requirements:8 years’ experience and a BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related technical degreeMaster’s degree highly
