As a Program Manager, accountable for executing Propulsion Test Projects (including Hotfires) and accountable for the management/maintenance of the Propulsion Test Site, you will lead the Propulsion Test Integrated Project Team (IPT) responsible for planning, developing, and executing all propulsion component and system testing.  You will be responsible for developing and meeting test requirements supporting verification methods documented in the Spaceship Requirements Matrices.  This includes collaboration to develop and execute a program plan within the approved cost, schedule, and budget coupled with priorities aligned at the Major Systems Level. The Program Manager will be accountable for activities across the program lifecycle including managing the performance of suppliers and strategic partners to ensure we achieve our goals of opening up space to everyone.Lead the Integrated Project Team responsible for development and qualification testing as we evolve and optimize current components of the Propulsion system to meet our objectives of commercial service. Develop and maintain a detailed program plan or Integrated Master Schedule for each of the component projects accounting for the scope of work across all functions aligned to the established Work Breakdown Structure.Execute the approved project plan with accountability for cost, scope, and schedule against the approved program baseline and provide program updates as required by executive team.Proactively maintain and track program risks and opportunities and provide mitigation plans as needed.Establish and execute the supply chain strategy supporting the future evolution and operation of the Propulsion system.Leverage your experience to help the team effectively employ design for manufacturability/assembly and design to cost coupled with lean manufacturing processes/concepts to enable our strategic partners to be successful.Regularly report to executive leadership, internal and external customers, and the wider organization the team’s performance in the areas of quality, scope, cost, and schedule.Required Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with a preference toward aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing from an accredited Institution8+ years relevant experience working in, developing, and successfully leading project execution with strategic partners, anchored by transparent communication.Experience providing program leadership for a multidisciplinary/functional team demonstrating a track record of success.Demonstrated success managing aerospace projects ideally with a focus on Supplier Project Management, including successfully supporting negotiations with suppliers to achieve desired product cost targets. Experience program/project execution including monitoring and control through program measures, such as but not limited to budget fidelity, resource fill rate, CPI/SPI (Earned Value), and product cost measures.Experience conducting trade studies to develop business cases resulting in recommendations to support investment decisions.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex, and rapidly evolving business environment.Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.Self-directed with a demonstrated passion for our mission.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and ProjectPreferred Skills and ExperienceExperience with Oracle and the deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), or other similar ERP systemExperience with business case development and strategic planningThis position may be based out of Mojave, CA or our Tustin, CA headquarters.
