About the Role:

We're seeking a skilled API Developer to join our team and play a pivotal role in building and maintaining APIs that seamlessly connect our systems with external financial partners. This on-site position requires working from our Providence, RI office 5 days per week. Your expertise in embedded banking and third-party integrations will be instrumental in driving the Bank's digital innovation strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of API integrations with third-party financial institutions to support innovative web and mobile solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (business analysts, product owners, security teams) to understand business requirements and ensure APIs are scalable, efficient, and aligned with the Bank's strategic goals.
  • Monitor and analyze API performance metrics to identify potential issues and work with frontend and backend developers to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Integrate BSA/AML (Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering) principles into API design to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Champion the implementation of Auth0 for robust authentication and identity management within our API ecosystem.
  • Configure and manage Auth0 policies, rules, and connections to enhance API security.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in API development and embedded banking technologies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining APIs.
  • Proven experience with third-party API integration, particularly within the financial services industry (embedded banking experience a plus).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API principles and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for API development (e.g., Java, Python).
  • Experience with API security best practices and authentication protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect).
  • Familiarity with Auth0 a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
