AECOM is seeking a Transportation Planner based in Atlanta, Georgia. The successful candidate will work with the Atlanta-based transit planning practice to provide high-quality deliverables and technical planning support services for our Georgia clients.

**Responsibilities:**

* Develops reports, graphics, and technical memoranda as assigned

* Interprets and applies applicable government codes, ordinances and regulations

* Assists with updates and maintenance of Comprehensive Plans, transportation plans, and land development regulations

* Acts as a liaison between community groups, government agencies, developers, and elected officials in developing neighborhood plans

* Conducts review of various plans, regulations, development applications, including comprehensive plans, permits, site plans, and technical studies

* Conducts extensive research in specific or general project areas

* Writes and presents formal and technical reports, working papers, and correspondence

* Identifies community problems, issues, and opportunities in particular neighborhoods that could be mitigated through better community planning

* Develops long-range plans for communities with common developmental issues

* Develops strategies to promote economic and community development, or efficient land use consistent with community goals

* Evaluate the adequacy of community facilities in meeting current and projected needs

* Recommends priorities, schedules, and funding sources to implement public improvements plans such as transportation plans and transits development plans

**Minimum Requirements**

* Bachelors Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Environmental Planning or related field

* 2+ years of experience in transportation planning, including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), economic development, rural planning, and transit planning

* Competence in Geographic Information Systems software (GIS), including ArcInfo

* Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, as well as Adobe Creative Suite

* knowledge of ArcView GIS, InDesign, and other technical programs used to analyze data and inform decision-making

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Master's degree in Urban Planning or similar

* transit planning concepts and methods

* Knowledge of transit planning

* Excellent writing and communication skills

* Demonstrate familiarity and knowledge of transit planning concepts, including NEPA, transit operation and route planning, and data analysis.

* Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
