**Senior Accountant**

**Summary**

The Senior Accountant at Harwood International will oversee all general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. They will reconcile account balances and maintain general ledger procedures, and they successfully combine analytical skills with knowledge of the statutory accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

**Job Functions**

* Verify and reconcile financial statements.

* Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

* Prepare financial states and budget.

* Plan, assist and review staffs work.

* Prepare journal entries.

* Prepare monthly management reports and accompanying schedules.

* Assist with the completion of the annual financial review and all regulatory audits.

* Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

* Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies.

* Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

* Summarizes financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.

* Produces payroll by initiating computer processing, printing checks, verifying finished product.

* Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts, providing information for auditors.

* Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements and GAAP.

* Secures financial information by completing database backups.

* Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

**Required Education & Experience**

* Bachelors in Accounting or Finance

* Masters in Accounting or Finance

* 4-6 Years of experience as a senior accountant

* Knowledge of GAAP

* Familiarity of financial accounting statements

* Experienced with Development Job Costs, Pay Applications and Draws.

**Preferred Education & Experience**

* CPA

* Proven experience as an Accounting Supervisor

* Real estate / hospitality industry experience

* Advanced Excel
